Twenty-six people attended the first service on June 22, 1958, held in the gymnasium of Fairview Elementary School. A mission church was organized, due to favorable survey results following a summer of services. The name Our Saviour Lutheran Church, submitted by charter member Marie Hansen, was adopted.

On April 15, 1959, the initial ground breaking service for the church was held. On June 14, 1959, the Rev. Paul Reyelts was officially installed as the pastor and served until April 1962. A student ministry along with the building program was a major focus of the church. The first service was held in the church on Christmas Day, 1959.

In June, 1962, Pastor Arnold Benson was installed as pastor and served until November, 1965. In December, 1965 construction of a parish education wing was completed.  Paster Frank Marks served as pastor from 1966-68, followed by Pastor Kenneth Gorrell. In 1978, Pastor Leland Uden accepted a call to serve Our Saviour Lutheran and did so until 1985. He was succeeded by Pastor Robert Hannemann, who served the church until October, 1989.

The 25th Anniversary of Our Saviour Lutheran took place on November 12, 1983. In remembrance of our original status as a mission church, a yard sale was held with all the proceeds going to Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Pastor Jeffrey Henricks accepted a call to Our Saviour Lutheran in August of 1990. Groundbreaking for the latest addition to the church occurred on November 14, 1993. Narthex and sanctuary remodeling was also done. The first service was held after completion of the remodeling on Christmas Eve, 1994, 35 years after the church's initial service in the sanctuary.

As God continues to lead and guide Our Saviour Lutheran Church, may we continue to praise God, trust in Him and care for others.
